Privacy policy

The short version: this website does not use cookies, does not run analytics and does not collect personal information from you.

This policy explains how childrensbooks.ie (“we”, “the site”) handles information. It was last updated on 6 November 2026.

What we collect

Nothing directly. The site has no accounts, forms, comments or newsletter sign-ups, and we do not ask for any personal information.

Cookies and tracking

The site does not set cookies, and it does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts and images are served from the site itself, so your browser does not contact third-party font or media services when you read a page.

Hosting

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. When you visit any website, the host’s servers may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. GitHub handles this under its own privacy statement, which you can read on the GitHub website. We do not have access to personal visitor profiles.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to other sites, such as libraries and national organisations. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies.

Your rights

Under data protection law, including the GDPR as it applies in Ireland, you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct and delete it, and to complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie. Because this site does not collect personal data directly, there is generally nothing for us to access or delete, but you are welcome to ask.

Children

This site is written for parents, carers, teachers and other adults who choose books for children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site works in a way that affects privacy, for example by adding analytics, we will update this page and the date above.
